Introduction	APP is a cell surface receptor and transmembrane precursor protein which is cleaved by secretases to form a number of peptides. Some of these peptides are secreted and can bind to the acetyltransferase complex APBB1/TIP60 to promote transcriptional activation, while others form the protein basis of the amyloid plaques found in the brains of patients with Alzheimer disease. Mutations in the APP gene are implicated in autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease and cerebroarterial amyloidosis (cerebral amyloid angiopathy).

Immunogen	Anti-human APP mAb, is derived from hybridization of mouse F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with recombinant human APP amino acids 18-289 purified from E. coli.
Purification Method	APP antibody was purified from mouse ascitic fluids by protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage	For periods up to 1 month store at 4C, for longer periods of time, store at -20C. Prevent freeze thaw cycles.
