Introduction	Recombinant Human Lipocalin-2 also called Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) belongs to a family of lipocans which include 25 proteins (including a1-microglobulin and b-lactoglobulin), which are characterized by their ability to bind small lipophilic substances in their hydrophobic core. They thereby serve as transporters of substances like retinal, biliverdins prostaglandins. There are indications that NGAL is involved in modulation of the inflammatory response and is found in the plasma of patients after stroke.
Description	Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin Human Recombinant is expressed in E. coli having a molecular weight of 28.1 kDa fused to an amino terminal hexahistidine tag. The LCN2 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Source	Escherichia Coli.
Physical Appearance	Sterile Filtered clear solution.
Formulation	Lipocalin-2 is supplied in PBS, 50% glycerol.
Purity	Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Single band on Western Blot.
Usage	ProSpec's products are furnished for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as drugs, agricultural or pesticidal products, food additives or household chemicals.
Storage	Store at 4C if entire vial will be used within 1-2 weeks. Store, frozen at -20C for longer periods of time. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
