Recombinant Mouse Prostasin is produced by our Mammalian expression system & the target gene encoding Ala30-Gln289 is expressed with a Fc tag at the C-terminus.

Prostasin also known as channel activating protease 1 (CAP1), is a trypsinlike serine peptidase, & plays important roles in epithelial physiology. Mouse Prostasin is found in the seminal fluid & secreted after cleavage of its C-terminus. Prostasin is found to activate the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) which is regulated & is critical for maintaining salt & fluid balance in the lung & kidney in both normal & pathological conditions. Accordingly, prostasin has been proposed as a target for therapeutic inhibition in cystic fibrosis. In addition, prostasin inhibits prostate & breast cancer cell invasion in vitro, suggesting a functional role as a suppressor of tumor invasion, as well as a regulator of gene expression during inflammation.

Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting.
It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 ug/ml.
Dissolve the lyophilized protein in ddH2O.
Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
