Supplied as a liquid in 20mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 10% glycerol.

BDNF is also known as Brain-derived neurotrophic factor. This protein is during development, promotes the survival and differentiation of selected neuronal populations of the peripheral and central nervous systems. The versatility of BDNF is emphasized by its contribution to a range of adaptive neuronal responses including long-term potentiation (LTP), long-term depression (LTD), certain forms of short-term synaptic plasticity, as well as homeostatic regulation of intrinsic neuronal excitability.

Applications:
Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
