Genway ID:
GWB-6477D0
Antigen Specificity:
Polyclonal antibody produced in rabbits immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region of Human ANXA6.
ELISA Titre:
1:1562500
Note:
Suggested starting concentrations are provided. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end-user. Differences in calculated versus apparent molecular weight may be due to post-translational modifications or protein hydrophobicity. Annexin VI belongs to a family of calcium-dependent membrane and phospholipid binding proteins. Although their functions are still not clearly defined. several members of the annexin family have been implicated in membrane-related events along exocytotic
Function:
May associate with CD21. May regulate the release of Ca(2+) from intracellular stores.
Subcellular Location:
Cytoplasm (By similarity). Melanosome. Note=Identified by mass spectrometry in melanosome fractions from stage I to stage IV.
Induction:
By EBV.
Domain:
A pair of annexin repeats may form one binding site for calcium and phospholipid.
Ptm:
Phosphorylated in response to growth factor stimulation.
Miscellaneous:
Seems to bind one calcium ion with high affinity.
Similarity:
Belongs to the annexin family.
Similarity:
Contains 8 annexin repeats. Summary: Annexin VI belongs to a family of calcium-dependent membrane and phospholipid binding proteins. Although their functions are still not clearly defined several members of the annexin family have been implicated in membrane-related events along exocytotic and endocytotic pathways. The annexin VI gene is approximately 60 kbp long and contains 26 exons. It encodes a protein of about 68 kDa that consists of eight 68-amino acid repeats separated by linking sequences of variable lengths. It is highly similar to human annexins I and II sequences each of which contain four such repeats. Exon 21 of annexin VI is alternatively spliced giving rise to two isoforms that differ by a 6-amino acid insertion at the start of the seventh repeat. Annexin VI has been implicated in mediating the endosome aggregation and vesicle fusion in secreting epithelia during exocytosis. Cuschieri. J. . et al. . (2005) Surgery 138 (2). 158-164.
