A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in human Troponin T type 2 was used as an immunogen.

The troponin complex is located on the thin filament of striated muscle and is composed of three component polypeptides: troponin T (TNNT1; TNNT2) troponin I (TNNI1; TNNI2; TNNI3) and troponin C (TNNC) (1). Troponin T type 2 (TNNT2) is a cardiac troponin T isoform expressed in the human heart that is essential for calcium-regulated myofibrillar ATPase activity (2). Troponin T (TnT) anchors the complex to the thin filaments in vertebrate striated muscle and functions as a regulatory system for muscle contraction in response to changes to intracellular calcium ion concentration (3).
