Specificity:
SALMONELLA BROAD REACTIVITY
Isotype:
IgG1
Preparation:
Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography on Protein G from tissue culture supernatant
Buffer Solution:
Phosphate buffered saline pH7. 4
Preservative Stabilisers:
0. 09% Sodium AzideApprox. Protein Concentrations: IgG concentration 1. 0mg/ml
Immunogen:
Heat inactivated Salmonella.
Specificity:
Recognises the core antigen of Salmonella enterica serogroups A B C1 C2 D E1 and E2. The core antigen bears the O antigen and is attached to lipid A. These three components together form the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) a major component of the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. The LPS is an endotoxin and induces a strong immune response from the host. Its mutation or removal results in the death of the bacterial cell and as such is a prime target for antimicrobial drugs. Salmonella enterica causes typhoid fever paratyphoid fever and foodborne illnesses.
Specificity:
Cross-reacts with serogroup A (S. paratyphi A) serogroup B (S. typhimurium) serogroup C1 (S. choleraesuis. ) serogroup C2 (S. newport) serogroup D (S. enteriditis) serogroup E1 (S. anatum) and serogroup E2 (S. selandia). It does not cross-react with Escherichia coli 055:B5 E. coli K12 or Klebsiella pneumoniae.
