NSC 405020

Description: NSC 405020 (NSC405020; NSC-405020) is a novel small molecule inhibitor of MT1-MMP (Membrane type-1 matrix metalloproteinase) that targets the noncatalytic domain of MMP with potential antineoplastic activity. It inhibits MMP by directly interacting with PEX domain of MT1-MMP and affecting PEX homodimerization but has not catalytic activity of MT1-MMP. It specifically targets PEX domain rather than the catalytic domain of MT1-MMP with IC50 > 100 uM and does not inhibit the catalytic activity of MT1-MMP or MMP-2. NSC 405020 significantly inhibits tumor growth in vivo.
