Usage notes |
Always centrifuge tubes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Human TRAIL protein using the buffer we provided not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. |
Storage instructions |
Lyophilized Human TRAIL protein product should be stored desiccated below -20C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |

Background |
The protein encoded by Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis inducing ligand (TRAIL) is a cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. This protein preferentially induces apoptosis in transformed and tumor cells, but does not appear to kill normal cells although it is expressed at a significant level in most normal tissues. The binding of this protein to its receptors has been shown to trigger the activation of MAPK8/JNK, caspase 8, and caspase 3. |
