TR-FRET (Time-Resolved Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) involves an energy transfer between two fluorophores in close proximity: a donor molecule with long-lived fluorescence, such as terbium (Tb) and europium (Eu) and an acceptor molecule with short-lived fluorescence. TR-FRET pairs are chosen to achieve overlap of the donor emission and the acceptor absorbance spectra. Europium is usually paired with red-shifted dyes (allophycocyanine, either Cy5, or CyLyte, or Alexa Fluor 647) as energy acceptors. AnaTag Protein Labeling Kit for TR-FRET provides Europium (Eu) dye for generating Eu-protein conjugates, and acceptor red dye HiLyteTM Fluor 647. When Eu conjugates are used in TR-FRET with H647-labeled reagents the signal can be detected at excitation/emission wavelengths = 325 nm/667 nm. Kit Size: 1 conjugation reaction with Eu and 1 conjugation reaction with HiLyte Fluor 647. Each conjugation reaction can label up to 200 ug proteins (IgG).
