Description	This is one of the predominant amyloid peptide structures deposited in human brain of Alzheimer’s disease and Down’s syndrome patients. N-terminally truncated pyroglutamate-modified beta-Amyloid forms such as Aß(3-42) and Aß (11- 42) have been described as major compounds in the senile plaques. Pyro-Glu modified beta-Amyloid forms are more resistant to degradation, show higher toxicity and have increased aggregation propensity compared to non-modified beta-Amyloid.
