Our Anti-KA2 kainate receptor mouse monoclonal primary antibody from NeuroMab is produced in-house from hybridoma clone N279B/27. It is KO validated, detects mouse and rat KA2 kainate receptor, and is purified by Protein A chromatography. It is great for use in IHC, ICC, WB.
Target Description
Glutamate Ionotropic Receptor Kainate Type Subunit 5 is encoded by the gene GRIK5. GRIK5 is a member of the glutamate-gated ion channel (TC 1.A.10.1) family, GRIK5 subfamily. GRIK5 forms functional heteromeric kainate-preferring ionic channels with the subunits encoded by related gene family members. GRIK5 is highly expressed in the cerebral cortex, pyriform cortex, caudate-putamen, hippocampal complex, medial habenulata, and granule cell layer of the cerebellum. GRIK5 is weakly expressed in the globus pallidus, thalamus, colliculi, and the reticular thalamic nucleus. Diseases associated with GRIK5 include Schizophrenia and Autosomal Recessive Non-Syndromic Intellectual Disability.
