Description
Our Anti-QKI-5 mouse monoclonal primary antibody from NeuroMab is produced in-house from hybridoma clone N195A/16. It detects human, mouse, and rat QKI-5, and is purified by Protein A chromatography. It is great for use in IHC, ICC, WB.
Target Description
QKI5 is a member of the Signal Transduction and Activation of RNA proteins (STAR proteins) family. QKI5, QKI6 QKI7 and QKI7b are alternatively spliced mRNAs from the QKI1 gene. QKI5 is a RNA-binding protein. QKI5 has roles in the regulation of splicing, export and stability of mRNA. It is involved in myelinization. It is a nuclear isoform and contains a C-terminal nuclear localization signal. Diseases associated with this gene include Angiocentric Glioma, 6Q Terminal Deletion Syndrome .and Schizophrenia.
Clonality
Monoclonal
Manufacturer - Specificity
Does not cross-react with QKI-6, QKI-7 or QKI-7bCross-reacts with other STAR proteins containing similar nuclear localization signals
Concentration
1 mg/mL
Form
Purified by Protein A chromatography
Buffer
10 mM Tris, 50 mM Sodium Chloride, 0.065% Sodium Azide pH 7.125
Production Notes
Produced by in vitro bioreactor culture of hybridoma line followed by Protein A affinity chromatography. Purified mAbs are >90% specific antibody.
Quality Control
Each new lot of antibody is quality control tested by western blot on rat whole brain lysate and confirmed to stain the expected molecular weight band.
Quality Control: Application
WB Brain
Usage Statement
These antibodies are to be used as research laboratory reagents and are not for use as diagnostic or therapeutic reagents in humans.
