Oxycodone, a potent opioid analgesic, is widely prescribed for the management ofmoderate to severe pain with a high potential for physical dependence and addiction.Oxycodone works by binding to various opioid receptors with the strongest affinity forthe mu-opioid receptors in the central nervous system, exerting analgesic effects andaltering the perception of pain.
