Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to aa3-14 (Cys-QSNRELVVDFLS) from human Bcl-X.
Specificity
Recognizes human Bcl-X, ~27kD. Species Crossreactivity: mouse, rat and porcine.
Description
Recognizes a protein of 27kD, identified as the Bcl-X protein. This monoclonal antibody shows no cross-reaction with Bcl-2a or Bax protein. Bcl-X has two isoforms, Bcl-XL (long), a 241aa protein which suppresses cell death. And Bcl-XS (short), a 178aa protein lacking a 63aa domain which functions as a dominant inhibitor of Bcl-2. This MAb reacts with both Bcl-XS and Bcl-XL proteins.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml
Immunoprecipitation: 1-2ug/500ug protein lysate
Immunohistochemistry (Frozen & Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 0.5-1ug/ml/30min @ RT
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Positive Control:
Jurkat, K562, HL-60, or HeLa Cells. Reed-Sternberg cells in Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Storage and Stability:
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
