The hnRNPs belong to a subfamily of ubiquitously expressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins. hnRNPs are RNA binding proteins and they complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA). These proteins are associated with pre-mRNAs in the nucleus and appear to influence pre-mRNA processing and other aspects of mRNA metabolism and transport. While all of the hnRNPs are present in the nucleus some seem to shuttle between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. The hnRNP proteins have distinct nucleic acid binding properties.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry(Paraffin): 1ug/ml. Perform heat mediated antigen retrieval with citrate buffer pH 6 before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
Western Blot: 1ug/ml. Detects a band of ~53kD (hnRNP F), 56kD (hnRNP H). (predicted molecular weight: hnRNP F = 49.8kD, hnRNP H = 53.9kD).
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Hybridoma:
Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
