Description
Interferon regulatory factor 4 (IRF4), also known as MUM1, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IRF4 gene. It is located on 6p25.3. IRF4 is a transcription factor, and it is essential for the development of T helper-2 (Th2) cells, IL17 -producing Th17 cells, and IL9 -producing Th9 cells. In melanocytic cells, the IRF4 gene may be regulated by MITF. IRF4 is a transcription factor that has been implicated in acute leukemia. This gene is strongly associated with pigmentation, sensitivity of skin to sun exposure, freckles, blue eyes, and brown hair color. IRF4 inhibition is toxic to myeloma cell lines, regardless of transforming oncogenic mechanism.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml, the detection limit is ~0.2ng/lane under reducing conditions.
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 0.5-1ug/ml, boiling the paraffin sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 20 mins is required for the staining of formalin/paraffin sections.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
