Recombinant protein corresponding to Thr231-Gln474 of human SRF, fused to two N-terminal Tags, His-Tag and T7-tag, expressed in E. coli.

SRF is a member of the MADS box superfamily of transcription factors. This protein binds to the serum response element (SRE) in the promoter region of target genes. This protein regulates the activity of many immediate-early genes, for example c-fos, and thereby participates in cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, cell growth, and cell differentiation. SRF is considered very important during the development of the embryo, as it has been linked to the formation of mesoderm. In the fully developed mammal, SRF is crucial for the growth of skeletal muscle. Interaction of SRF with other proteins, such as steroid hormone receptors, may contribute to regulation of muscle growth by steroids. Lack of skin SRF is associated with psoriasis and other skin diseases.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 1:100-1:5000
Western Blot: 1:50-400
Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-500
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:10-100
Immunocytochemistry: 1:50-500
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
