Purified CEA from pooled tumors.

Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) is a 180kD tumor-associated cell surface glycoprotein. CEA is synthesized during development in the fetal gut. It is re-expressed in increased amounts in intestinal carcinomas and several other tumors. Anti-CEA is reportedly useful in identifying the origin of various metastatic adenocarcinomas and in distinguishing pulmonary adenocarcinomas (60-70% are CEA+) from pleural mesotheliomas (rarely or weakly CEA+).

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA, Solid Phase Immobilization, Enzyme Conjugation and Radiolabeling. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Hybridoma:
Hybridization of P3X63-Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.

Storage and Stability:
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
