Description
CD51 represents the 150kD integrin betaV chain that associates with integrin beta3 (CD61) to form the CD51/CD61 vitronectin receptor on endothelial cells, certain activated leukocytes, NK cells, macrophages, neutrophils and platelets. CD51 is the most promiscuous integrin a subunit; it can form heterodimers with the beta1 (CD29), beta3 (CD61), beta5, beta6 and beta8 subunits in various tissues. CD51/CD61 acts as an activation-independent receptor for platelet attachment and spreading on vitronectin and other RGD-containing proteins, including matrix components. It also mediates leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion via interaction with CD31(1-4).

Applications:
Suitable for use in Flow cytometry and Immunohistochemistry . Other applications have not been tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Flow Cytometry: 10ul/10e6 cells
Immunohistochemistry: frozen sections
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C before opening. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for at least 12 months at 4°C. Freezing R-Phycoerythrin (PE) conjugates will result in a substantial loss of activity. PE conjugates are sensitive to light.
