Specificity
Recognizes mouse CD68. Detects surface macrosialin at low levels in resident mouse peritoneal macrophages which can be enhanced with thioglycollate stimulation.
Description
Macrosialin is a heavily glycosylated transmembrane protein of 87-115kD, which is specifically expressed by tissue macrophages, Langerhans cells and at low levels by dendritic cells. Macrosialin is the murine homologue of the human macrophage glycoprotein CD68, both are members of the lysosomal-associated membrane protein (lamp) family which are located predominantly within the cells and can be detected by flow cytometry using cell permeablization.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): Heat induced epitope retrieval is recommended prior to staining paraffin section. Sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0 is recommended.
Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections
Western Blot: Non-reducing conditions recommended.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
