Recombinant human MUC18 (D1-D5) Fc protein.

Human adhesion molecule Muc 18 is also known as Melanoma Associated antigen A32, S-endo 1 endothelial -associated antigen, CD146 antigen and Melanoma adhesion Molecule Mel-CM. Muc 18 was first identified as a melanoma progression antigen. It belongs to the Ig superfamily. Muc 18 could be actively involved in adhesion of cells of the neural rest during embroynic development. Its expression may also allow cells of various tumors to interact with endothelial cells, thus allowing tumor spread through blood system. In adult tissues, Muc 18 is limited to the cells of smooth muscles. Expression is associated with development of metastasis of human malignant melanoma with the highest levels on the cells of metastatic lesions of malignant melanoma.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Flow Cytometry: Neat-1:10 Labels 10e6 cells in 100ul.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Recommended Negative Control:
I1904-78R3 IgG1 Murine Negative Control (FITC)

Hybridoma:
Sp2/0 Ag14 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.

Storage and Stability:
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
