Description
G-protein coupled receptor 83 (GPR83, GIR, GPR72, KIAA1540), a 423aa protein, is an orphan member of GPCR protein family and is closely related to tachykinin and NPY receptors. It is a human homolog of mouse GIR protein and is exclusively expressed and selectively up-regulated in brain. It is a cell surface receptor protein consisting of a putative seven-transmembrane-domain. Reports suggest GPR83 might be involved in the regulation of immune tolerance mechanism by inducing peripheral generation of Foxp3+ Treg cells.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 1:8000
Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml, human, mouse and rat brain lysates observed on ~48kD bands
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
