Description
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNP) bind to nascent RNA polymerase II transcripts and are involved in transcript-specific packaging as well as alternative splicing of pre-mRNAs. hnRNPs also appear to influence mRNA metabolism and transport. In vivo, the M proteins bind to mRNA, and in vitro they bind avidly to poly(G) and poly(U) homopolymers. Four different isoforms of hnRNP are produced by alternative splicing: M1, M2, M3 and M4. Ongoing studies have theorized that hnRNPs may cause certain genetic diseases such as myotonic dystrophy, which is the most common form of adult muscular dystrophy. The identification of hnRNPs may therefore be important to determining the cause and cure for genetic diseases.

Applications:
Suitable for use in FLISA, Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
FLISA: 1-3ug/ml
Immunofluorescence: 20ug/ml
Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Hybridoma:
Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.

Storage and Stability:
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
