Description
Microtubules are constituent parts of the mitotic apparatus, cilia, flagella and elements of the cytoskeleton. They consist principally of 2 soluble proteins, alpha- and beta-tubulin, each of about 55, 000kD. Antibodies against beta Tubulin are useful as loading controls for Western Blotting. However it should be noted that levels of beta Tubulin may not be stable in certain cells. For example, expression of tubulin in adipose tissue is very low and therefore beta Tubulin should not be used as loading control for these tissues.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoflourescence and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 1:500 detected beta-tubulin on 10ug of A431 lysates.
Indirect Immunoflourescence: Allows staining of microtubuli showing a low background only.
Immunocytochemistry: 1-2ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Positive Control:
HeLa Cell lysate, A431 Cell lysate, MCF7 cell lysate

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
