Description
The cytoskeleton consists of three types of cytosolic fibers: microtubules, microfilaments (actin filaments), and intermediate filaments. Globular tubulin subunits comprise the microtubule building block, with alpha/beta-tubulin heterodimers forming the tubulin subunit common to all eukaryotic cells. Gamma-tubulin is necessary to nucleate polymerization of tubulin subunits to form microtubule polymers. Many cell movements are mediated by microtubule action, including the beating of cilia and flagella, cytoplasmic transport of membrane vesicles, chromosome alignment during meiosis/mitosis, and nerve-cell axon migration. These movements result from competitive microtubule polymerization and depolymerization or through the actions of microtubule motor proteins.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Immunofluorescence (IC): 1:200. Dilute in PBS/Triton; use 100ul/well.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months at 4°C. Freezing Alexa Fluor®555 conjugates will result in a substantial loss of activity. Alexa Fluor®555 conjugates are sensitive to light.
