This RPS20 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 26-55 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human RPS20.
Bio Background
Ribosomes, the organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 4S subunit and a large 6S subunit. Togetherthese subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 8structurally distinct proteins. This gene encodes a ribosomalprotein that is a component of the 4S subunit. The protein belongsto the S1P family of ribosomal proteins. It is located in thecytoplasm. This gene is co-transcribed with the small nucleolar RNAgene U54, which is located in its second intron. As is typical forgenes encoding ribosomal proteins, there are multiple processedpseudogenes of this gene dispersed through the genome. Twotranscript variants encoding different isoforms have beenidentified for this gene.
