Manufacturer - Specificity	This antibody recognises rat stem cell factor (SCF), a type I transmembrane protein and haematopoietic growth factor which acts in synergy with other growth factors, and signals through the receptor tyrosine kinase c-Kit (CD117).The interaction between SCF and c-Kit regulates developmental and functional processes of haematopoietic progenitor cells, mast cells, myelanocytes and germ cells, and plays an important role in follicular development. The interaction between SCF and c-Kit is associated with the progression and invasiveness of some tumours, including melanomas.
Reconstitution	Reconstitute with 0.1 ml of distilled water. Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Gently mix after reconstitution. For long term storage the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended.
