Background
Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT), also known as DNA nucleotidylexotransferase (DNTT) or terminal transferase, is a DNA polymerase expressed in immature lymphocytes of the thymus and bone marrow, as well as certain leukemic cells. TDT cDNA contains an open reading frame of 1530 base pairs (bp) corresponding to a protein containing 510 amino acids. TDT is a useful marker in the diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) (French-American-British [FAB] L1 and L2) and is most useful in distinguishing ALL from mature B-lymphoid neoplasms, such as Burkitt lymphoma (FAB L3) and other lymphoid malignancies.
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide (conjugated with KLH) corresponding to the N-terminal of human TDT.
