Manufacturer - Applications
Quality Tested by Leinco Western Blotting: To detect Mouse ALK-1 this biotin conjugate can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 µg/ml. This biotin conjugate should be used in conjunction with compatible second-step reagents such as PN:A106 and a chromogenic substrate such as PN:T343. The sensitivity of detection may increase up to 50 fold when a chemiluminescent substrate is used. A suitable Western blotting control is PN:A349.
ELISA Sandwich Assay: This antibody can be used as the detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA at a concentration of approximately 0.1-0.4 µg/ml when used in conjunction with PN:A404 as the capture antibody at 0.2-0.38 µg/ml and an optimal second step reagent such as PN:A106 for the detection of Mouse ALK-1.

Storage Conditions
The lyophilized, biotinylated antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody can be stored desiccated at -20°C to -70°C for up to twelve months from date of receipt. The reconstituted biotin conjugate can be stored for at least four weeks at 2-8°C. For long-term storage of the reconstituted conjugate, aseptically aliquot into working volumes and store at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles. No detectable loss of activity was observed after six months.
Product Description
Activin A receptor type II-like 1, also known as ACVRL1, is a human gene. ACVRL1 is a receptor in the TGF beta signaling pathway. It is also known as "activin receptor-like kinase 1", or "ALK1". This gene encodes a type I cell-surface receptor for the TGF-beta superfamily of ligands. It shares with other type I receptors a high degree of similarity in serine-threonine kinase subdomains, a glycine- and serine-rich region (called the GS domain) preceding the kinase domain, and a short C-terminal tail. The encoded protein, sometimes termed ALK1, shares similar domain structures with other closely related ALK or activin receptor-like kinase proteins that form a subfamily of receptor serine/threonine kinases. Mutations in this gene are associated with hemorrhagic telangiectasia type 2, also known as Rendu-Osler-Weber syndrome 2 suggesting a critical role for ALK-1 in the control of blood vessel development or repair. Human and mouse ALK-1 share approximately 71% amino acid sequence identity in their extracellular regions.

Manufacturer - Specificity
Goat Anti-Mouse Activin Receptor-Like Kinase 1 (ALK-1) recognizes Mouse ALK-1. This antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody was purified using a proprietary chromatographic technique that includes covalently immobilizing the antigen proteins or peptides to agarose based beads. This purification method enhances specificity, reduces nonspecific binding of extraneous IgG and provides you with the most reliable reagent available for your early discovery research.
