Mouse Anti-Human CD55 (Clone 143-30) recognizes Human CD55. This monoclonal antibody was purified using multi-step affinity chromatography methods such as Protein A or G depending on the species and isotype. Anti-Human CD55 is the complement regulatory protein decay accelerating factor (DAF). It is a 70 kDa glycoprotein (in erythrocytes) anchored in the membrane by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol tail. In other cells the apparent molecular weight is somewhat larger. It has a substantial content of O-glycans, and also one N-glycan. DAF binds to activated C4b or C3b complement fragments on the cell surface, preventing the assembly and accelerating of decay of both classical and alternative pathways. DAF has a wide distribution on cells in non-hematopoietic tissues, particularly epithelium and endothelium and is specifically found at the foetal-maternal interface in placenta. Soluble forms of DAF are found, for example, in plasma, saliva, urine, etc. FUSION PARTNER: NS1 myeloma cell line.
