Mouse monoclonal antibody to human dynactin subunit 1 [1E12]: IgG

Dynactin subunit 1 (DCTN1) is part of a large macromolecular complex of at least 10 components. It is required for cytoplasmic dynein-driven retrograde movement of vesicles and organelles along microtubules. Dynein-dynactin interaction is a key component of the mechanism of axonal transport of vesicles and organelles. Dynactin subunit 1 binds directly to microtubules and to cytoplasmic dynein. It is expressedA in the brain and localises to the cytoplasm and the cytoskeleton. It belongs to the dynactin 150 kDa subunit family and contains one CAP-Gly domain. Abnormalities in DCTN1 cause progressive lower motor neuron disease (PLMND).
