Storage Conditions
Store at 2-8aC. For long term storage, aliquot into small volumes and store at -20aC. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to prevent denaturing the antibody.
Application Notes
For use as a capture antibody in sandwich ELISA, we recommend a concentration of 5 ¨¬g/mL. In Western blotting, a concentration range of 0.1-1.0 ¨¬g/mL is recommended. The optimal antibody concentration should be determined for each specific application.
Cross-Reactivity
Mouse and rat. Low reactivity with human. Other species were not tested.
Description
AA (252Q6) UNCONJ. MS X MS, Unconjugated Monoclonal antibody specific to Mouse, Rat AA. This antibody is validated for use in Western Blot, Immunoassay (ELISA). Anti-AA recognizes the expressed product of the App gene.
Formulation
Purified immunoglobulin in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.2, with 0.1% bovine serum albumin. Preservative: 0.1% sodium azide. Precaution: Sodium azide is a poisonous and hazardous substance which should be handled by trained staff only.
Immunogen
A chemically synthesized peptide derived from amino acid residues 1-20 of mouse AA. This region is conserved in rat AA.
Purification
Purified from ascites by affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Alzheimer¯s Disease (AD) is characterized by the presence of extracellular plaques and intracellular neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) in the brain. The major component of these plaques is AA peptide (A-amyloid), a 40 to 43 amino acid peptide cleaved from amyloid precursor protein (APP). Increased release of the longer forms¯ of AA peptide, AA42 or AA43, which have a greater tendency to aggregate than AA40, occurs in individuals expressing certain genetic mutations, expressing certain ApoE alleles, or may involve other, still undiscovered, factors. Many researchers theorize that this increased release of AA42/AA43 leads to the abnormal deposition of AA and the associated neurotoxicity in the brains of affected individuals. This monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse AA peptide and recognizes mouse APP. It provides a tool for the research of Alzheimer¯s Disease in mouse or rat models.
