Application Notes
The conjugate is tested by flow cytometry. From this testing it is recommended that between 0.05 and 0.2 ug of streptavidin be used per 1 x 106 cells in a 100 ul staining volume. Because conditions may very, each investigator should determine the optimal amount of streptavidin to be used for each application. The excitation wavelength of TC is 488 nm. The peak emission is at 670 nm
Description
Streptavidin binds to biotin with high affinity (10-15 M). When conjugated to fluorochromes, streptavidin is a potent second step reagent used to detect primary, biotinylated antibodies.
Formulation
0.5 ml Streptavidin TC conjugated in 2 times concentrated PBS with 100 ug Streptavidin and 0.1% sodium azide. EIA-grade BSA has been added to bring the final protein concentration to 4-5mg/ml. Precaution: Sodium azide is a poisonous and hazardous substance which should be handled by trained staff only.
Storage and Stability
TC conjugate must be stored at 2-8C... NEVER STORE FROZEN
