Description
Recombinant Human BNP is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 32 amino acids. Natriuretic Peptide Precursor B (BNP) acts as a cardiac hormone with a variety of biological actions including natriuresis, diuresis, vasorelaxation, and inhibition of renin and aldosterone secretion. It is thought to play a key role in cardiovascular homeostasis. Helps restore the body's salt and water balance. Improves heart function.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 0.1 ng/ug (IEU/ug) of Human BNP determined by LAL method.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered concentrated solution in PBS, pH 7.4.
Molecular Weight
3.5 kDa
Reconstitution
Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Add sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
Storage and Stability
This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-4C, but should be kept desiccated at -20C for long term storage. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is stable for up to one week at 2-4C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20C to -80C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
