Description
Cathepsin D is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CTSD gene. This gene encodes a lysosomal aspartyl protease composed of a dimer of disulfide-linked heavy and light chains, both produced from a single protein precursor.
Formulation
Lyophilized from 2mM Na3PO4, pH 6.5.
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with laboratory grade water.
Biological Activity
300 units/mg-One unit of activity is defined as the amount of enzyme which digests hemoglobin-releasing peptides which are soluble in 10% TCA. The reaction is measured by an increase of an A280 of 1.0 per 60 minutes at 37C C.
