Biological Activity
Determined by its ability to inhibit induced alkaline phosphatase productiion by ATDC-5 chondrogenic cells. The expected ED50 for this effect is 0.08-0.1 ug/ml.
Description
Recombinant Human BMP11 is a disulfide-linked homodimer containing two 109 amino acid polypeptide chains. It is highly homologous to myostatin/GDF8 sharing 90% amino acid sequence identity.
Endotoxin Level
< 0.1 ng/ug of protein
Formulation
Lyophilized without additives
Molecular Weight
25.0 kDa
Reconstitution
Centrifuge vial prior to opening . First add sterile distilled water to the vial to fully solubilize the protein to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. After complete solubilization of the protein, it can be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized protein is stable for 2 years at -20C. Reconstituted protein is stable for 1 week at 2-4C or for 3 months in working aliquots with a carrier protein at -20C. Please note that the addition of any carrier protein into this product may produce unwanted endotoxin. This depends upon the particular application employed. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles .
