Storage Conditions	Lyophilized recombinant human IL-5, although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -20C. Upon reconstitution, recombinant human IL-5 should be stored at 4C between 2-7 days and for future use, below -20C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Description	Recombinant human IL-5, produced in, E. coli, , is a non-glycosylated homodimer with each polypeptide chain containing 132 amino acids with a total MW = 26.52284 kDa.
Formulation	Lyophilized from a concentrated (1 mg/ml) solution in 5 mM Tris, pH 7.2.
Reconstitution	Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Reconstitute recombinant human IL-5 in sterile water at a concentration not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Specificity	6 x 106 IU/mg
Biological Activity	Recombinant human IL-5 is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of the proliferation of TF-1 cells was found to be < 0.15 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 6 x 106 IU/mg
Endotoxin Level	Less than 0.1 ng/ug (1 EU/ug) of recombinant human IL-5.
