Recombinant Human IL-16 (121 a.a.)

This lyophilized preparation is stable at 4-8C, but should be kept at -20C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is stable for up to one week at 4-8C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20C to -80C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Human Interleukin-16 (IL-16) also called Lymphocyte chemoattractant factor (LCF) has three isoforms and they are cleaved from pre-Interleukin-16 which is encoded by the IL16 gene (on chromosome 15). In addition, Interleukin-16 is mostly secreted by lymphocytes, epithelial cells, eosinophils, and CD8+ T cells. CD4 is the cell signaling receptor for mature IL-16. It has many functions including induction of the IL-2RD on T cells, suppression of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) replication, inhibition of T-cell antigen receptor/CD3 mediated T-cell stimulation in mixed lymphocyte reactions and so on. Furthermore, recombinant human IL-16( 121 a.a.) contains 121 amino acid residues and it shares 85% a.a. sequence identity with mouse IL-16.

Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Add sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.

Less than 1EU/ug of rHuIL-16 (121a.a.) as determined by LAL method.
