Description
IGF-BPs controls the distribution, function and activity of IGFs in various cell tissues and body fluids. Currently there are seven named IGF-BPs that form high affinity complexes with both IGF-I and IGF-II. IGF-BP2 is a cysteine-rich secreted protein produced by bone cells, and is most abundant in the brain. IGF-BP2 has been shown to inhibit IGF-II action in human breast and ovarian carcinoma cells. Recombinant human IGF-BP2 consistS of 289 amino acid residues including the IGF-BP domain and thyroglobulin type-I domain.
Formulation
Lyophilized without additives.
Molecular Weight
31.5 kDa
Reconstitution
Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in sterile water to a concentration of 0.5 mg/ml. The solution can then be further diluted in other aqueous buffers.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized protein is preferably stored at -20C for up to two years. After reconstitution, stable for up to 3 months when stored in working aliquots with a carrier protein at -20C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
