Description	Transforming Growth Factor-alpha (TGF-alpha) stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of epidermal and epithelial cells. TGF-alpha has been shown to play a role in the autocrine growth of certain transformed cells. Human TGF-alpha is a 5.5 kDa protein containing 50 amino acid residues.
Formulation	Sterile filtered and lyophilized with no additives
Reconstitution	Centrifuge vial prior to opening. First add sterile water to the vial to fully solubilize the protein to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. After complete solubilization of the protein, it can be further diluted to other aqueous solutions and stored at 2-4C for 1 week or -20C for future use. For most, in vitro, applications, TGF-alpha exerts its biological activity in the concentration range of 0.5-25 ng/ml.
Specificity	5.0 x 106 units/mg
Biological Activity	Determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of proliferation of BALB-c 3T3 cells. The ED50 is <=0.2 ng/ml corresponding to a specific activity of ≥, 5 x 106 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level	<0.1 ng/ug of the protein
