Storage Conditions
Lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, but it is recommended to store the lyophilized product desiccated at -20C to -80C. Upon reconstitution, protein should be stored at 2-4C for one week and for future use at -20C to -80C. Add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) as a stabilizer for long term storage. This depends upon the particular application employed. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Molecular Weight
18.7 kDa
Description
IL10 is a cytokine produced primarily by monocytes and to a lesser extent by lymphocytes. This cytokine has pleiotropic effects in immunoregulation and inflammation. It down-regulates the expression of Th1 cytokines, MHC class II Ags, and costimulatory molecules on macrophages. It also enhances B cell survival, proliferation, and antibody production. This cytokine can block NF-kappa B activity, and is involved in the regulation of the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. Knockout studies in mice suggested the function of this cytokine as an essential immunoregulator in the intestinal tract. The Interleukin-10 Rat purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Formulation
The protein was lyophilized containing 25 mM sodium phosphate buffer pH-7.25 and 100 mM NaCl.
Reconstitution
Centrifuge vial prior to opening. First add sterile water to the vial to fully solubilize the protein to a concentration not less than 100 ug/ml. After complete solubilization of the protein, it can be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Specificity
100, 000 IU/mg.
Biological Activity
The ED50 as determined by the dose dependent inhibition of MC/9 proliferation is less than 10 ng/ml concentration.
