Description	Podoplanin is a transmembrane protein expressed specifically in the endothelium of the lymphatic capillaries and absent in the blood vasculature. Podoplanin also co-localizes with VEGFR3/FLT4 in normal skin and kidney. Anti-Podoplanin antibodies are useful in identifying lymphangiomas, Kaposi’s sarcomas, epithelioid mesotheliomas, hemangioblastomas, seminomas, and some angiosarcomas which likely have lymphatic differentiation.
