Manufacturer - Applications
The ED50 as determined by the cytolysis of murine L929cells in the presence of Actinomycin D is <0.05ng/ml, corresponding to aspecific activity of 2 x 107 IU/mg. Each laboratory shoulddetermine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application.Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should notnecessarily be excluded.
Storage Conditions
The lyophilizedproduct, though stable for 3 weeks at room temperature, is best stored at-20°C. After reconstitution, short term (up to 1 week) store at 2–8oC. Longterm, add 0.1% HSA or BSA, aliquot and store at -20°C. Avoid multiplefreeze/thaw cycles.

Antigen Description
This gene encodes a multifunctionalproinflammatory cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF)superfamily. This cytokine is mainly secreted by macrophages. It can bind to, and thus functions through its receptors TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR.This cytokine is involved in the regulation of a wide spectrum of biologicalprocesses including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipidmetabolism, and coagulation. This cytokine has been implicated in a varietyof diseases, including autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer.Knockout studies in mice also suggested the neuroprotective function of thiscytokine.
