Manufacturer - Applications
The ED50 as determined by the dose dependentinduction of ACHE (acetylcholine esterase) in rat basal forebrain primaryseptal culture is 50ng/ml. Each laboratory should determine an optimumworking titer for use in its particular application. Other applications havenot been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.
Storage Conditions
The lyophilized product, though stable for 3 weeks at roomtemperature, is best stored at –20°C. After reconstitution, short term (up to1 week) store at 2-8oC. Long term, add 0.1% HSA or BSA, aliquot and store at–20°C. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Full name
Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor
Product Overview
Recombinant Human Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor is ahomodimer, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 2 x 119 amino acidsand having a total molecular weight of 26, 984 Da, was expressed in E. coli. Thesequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined to beMet-His-Ser-Asp-Pro. Contains less than 1% dimers and aggregates.

Antigen Description
Major regulator ofsynaptic transmission and plasticity at adult synapses in many regions of theCNS. The versatility of BDNF is emphasized by its contribution to a range ofadaptive neuronal responses including long-term potentiation (LTP), long-termdepression (LTD), certain forms of short-term synaptic plasticity, as well ashomeostatic regulation of intrinsic neuronal excitability.
