Manufacturer - Applications
The ED50as determined by the dose-dependant secretion of IL-6 by NIH 3T3 cells wasfound to be 1.0-10ng/ml. Each laboratory should determine an optimum workingtiter for use in its particular application. Other applications have not beentested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.
Storage Conditions
Thelyophilized product, though stable for 3 weeks at room temperature, is beststored at –20°C. After reconstitution, short term (up to 1 week) store at2-8oC. Long term, add 0.1% HSA or BSA, aliquot and store at –20°C. Avoidmultiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Antigen Description
Interleukin-17 (IL-17, or IL-17A)is the founding member of a group of cytokines called the IL-17 family.IL-17A, was originally identified as a transcript from a rodent T-cellhybridoma by Rouvier et al. in 1993. Known as CTLA8 in rodents, IL-17 showshigh homology to viral IL-17 encoded by an open reading frame of the Tlymphotropic rhadinovirus Herpesvirus saimiri. Interleukin 17 is a cytokinethat acts as a potent mediator in delayed – type reactions by increasingchemokine production in various tissues to recruit monocytes and neutrophilsto the site of inflammation, similar to Interferon gamma. IL- 17 is producedby T helper cells and is induced by IL – 23 which results in destructivetissue damage in delayed – type reactions. Interleukin 17 as a familyfunctions as a proinflammatory cytokine that responds to the invasion of the immunesystem by extracellular pathogens and induces destruction of the pathogen’scellular matrix. Interleukin 17 acts synergistically with tumor necrosisfactor and interleukin-1.
