Manufacturer - Applications
Biological activity of Mouse Leptin is performed in two different mouse obesity models, ob/ob and NZO. Both strains of mice were treated via intraperitonealinjection once daily at a dose of 5ug Leptin/gram body weight for a period of14 days. Significant effects on body weight, food consumption and plasmaglucose levels were observed to saline-treated controls. Each laboratoryshould determine an optimum working titer for use in its particularapplication. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assaysshould not necessarily be excluded.
Storage Conditions
Thelyophilized product, though stable for 3 weeks at room temperature, is beststored at –20°C. After reconstitution, short term (up to 1 week) store at2-8oC. Long term, add 0.1% HSA or BSA, aliquot and store at –20°C. Avoidmultiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Full name
Leptin
Product Overview
Recombinant MouseLeptin is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 147 aminoacids and having a molecular weight of 16, 240 Da, was expressed in E.coli. Thesequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined to beMet-Val-Pro-Ile-Gln. Contains less than 1% dimers and aggregates.

Antigen Description
Leptin plays a critical role in theregulation of body weight by inhibiting food intake and stimulating energyexpenditure. Defects in Leptin production cause severe hereditary obesity inrodents and humans. In addition to its effects on body weight, leptin has avariety of other functions, including the regulation of hematopoiesis, angiogenesis, wound healing, and the immune and inflammatory response.
