Product Overview
Tetracyclines are a group of broad-spectrum antibiotics whose general usefulness has been reduced with the onset of Antibiotic resistance. Despite this, they remain the treatment of choice for some specific indications. They are so named for their four ("tetra-") hydrocarbon rings ("-cycl-") derivation ("-ine"). To be specific, they are defined as ""a subclass of polyketides having an octahydrotetracene-2-carboxamide skeleton"".They are collectively known as ""derivatives of polycyclic naphthacene carboxamide"".
Sample Type
Poultry tissue, aquatic tissue, milk, etc.
Sample Volume
10-200 uL
Stability
The stability of ELISA kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test. Keep the kit at 37C for 4 and 7 days, and compare O.D.values of the kit kept at 37C with that of at recommended temperature. (referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation. For ELISA kit, 4 days storage at 37C can be considered as 6 months at 2 - 8C, which means 7 days at 37C equaling 12 months at 2 - 8C).
Storage
Store at 2-8C. Please refer to Instruction Manual.
Test principle
This assay is based on the competitive enzyme immunoassay for the detection of Tetracyclines in the sample. The coupling antigens are pre-coated on the micro-well stripes. The Tetracyclines in the sample and the coupling antigens pre-coated on the micro-well stripes compete for the anti-Tetracyclines antibody. After the addition of the enzyme conjugate, the TMB substrate is added for coloration. The optical density (OD) value of the sample has a negative correlation with the Tetracyclines in it. This value is compared to the standard curve and the Tetracyclines concentration is subsequently obtained.
