ACINUS
Isotype:
Polyclonal IgG
Buffer Solution:
Phosphate buffered Saline
Preservative Stabilisers:
0. 02% Sodium AzideApprox. Protein Concentrations: IgG concentration 0. 5 mg/ml
Immunogen:
Peptide DTSENRPENDVPEPP which corresponds to a region within Acinus.
Specificity:
Recognises Acinus (apoptosis chromatin condensation inducer in the nucleus) an inducer of chromatin condensation. The antibody recognises three splice forms of Acinus designated Acinus L Acinus S and Acinus S\' . Recommended Positive Controls: K562 CELL TOTAL PROTEIN LYSATERecommended Secondary Antibodies: Sheep Anti Rabbit IgGGoat Anti Rabbit IgG (Fc)Goat Anti Rabbit IgG (H/L)
Function:
Component of a splicing-dependent multiprotein exon junction complex (EJC) deposited at splice junction on mRNAs. The EJC is a dynamic structure consisting of a few core proteins and several more peripheral nuclear and cytoplasmic associated factors that join the complex only transiently either during EJC assembly or during subsequent mRNA metabolism. Induces apoptotic chromatin condensation after activation by CASP3. Ref. 1Subunit structureFound in a mRNA splicing-dependent exon junction complex (EJC) at least composed of ACIN1 CASC3 EIF4A3 MAGOH PNN RBM8A RNPS1 SAP18 and THOC4. Forms heterodimers with RNPS1. Found in a heterotrimeric complex with ACIN1 RNPS1 and SAP18. Interacts with API5. Ref. 5Ref. 21Subcellular locationNucleusRef. 5. Tissue specificityUbiquitous. Post-translational modificationUndergoes proteolytic cleavage; the processed form is active contrary to the uncleaved form. Sequence similaritiesContains 1 SAP domain. 1. Abrams J. S. et al.
