CD275 - L cells
Specificity:
Detects CD275 also known as ICOS ligand (inducible T cell co-stimulator ligand). CD275 is a member of the B7 family and interaction with its receptor CD278 (ICOS) plays an important role in T cell co-stimulation and inflammatory immune reactions. CD275 is expressed on activated B-cells monocytes and dendritic cells and is also induced on non-lymphoid tissue cells such as endothelial cells epithelial cells and muscle cells. CD275 has an important physiological role in the reactivation of effector/memory T cells on the endothelium thus controlling entry of immune cells into inflamed tissue. The CD278-CD275 pathway is thought to be critical in the immune response to transplants allergies and autoimmune diseases. MIH11 is reported to partially block the interaction between CD275 and CD278. Recommended Negative Controls: MOUSE IgG1 NEGATIVE CONTROL:FITC
Function:
Ligand for the T-cell-specific cell surface receptor ICOS. Acts as a costimulatory signal for T-cell proliferation and cytokine secretion; induces also B-cell proliferation and differentiation into plasma cells. Could play an important role in mediating local tissue responses to inflammatory conditions as well as in modulating the secondary immune response by co-stimulating memory T-cell function By similarity. Subcellular locationMembrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein By similarity. Tissue specificityIsoform 1 is widely expressed (brain heart kidney liver lung pancreas placenta skeletal muscle bone marrow colon ovary prostate testis lymph nodes leukocytes spleen thymus and tonsil) while isoform 2 is detected only in lymph nodes leukocytes and spleen. Expressed on activated monocytes and dendritic cells. Ref. 7Induction: Constitutive expression is further enhanced by treatment with TNF-alpha in peripheral blood B-cells and monocytes while it is decreased in dendritic cells. Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. BTN/MOG family. Contains 1 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. Contains 1 Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. Sequence cautionThe sequence BAA31628. 1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation. Translation N-terminally shortened. The sequence BAA31628. 1 differs from that shown. Reason: The sequence differs from that shown in position 300 onward for unknown reason. 1. Harris K. W. et al.
